Comics you're reading at the moment

May 31, '15, 10:02pm

Gotta be some comic readers on these forums, curious as to what you're all reading right now.
At the moment I'm reading Saga (I'm all caught up waiting for the next issue), I just finished sandman (I'm gonna order overture sometime this week), I've been making my way through dark knight returns, and I'm also reading black science which is a pretty unique sci-fi comic about a group of scientists that create technology that enables them to travel through time and space, it has a really cool art style.

Stephen King's The Dark Tower: Treachery. It seems like it's set in the middle of a larger narrative (presumably that of the books...which I haven't read), so I'm probably missing out on a lot of nuance. It's perrttty. Stephen King is a rascal.

I've been meaning to read sex criminals, although I am a bit snobby when it comes to the art involved. Won't stop me from reading it though.

Just reread Death of the Family again. Holy crap. Easily one of the best Batman series in years, and most definitely the best Joker story since Killing Joke.

Sadly I have had to trim my list due to reasons, so I am currently only reading these books. This is also the order in which I purchase them as money is tight :(

Batman (Synder and Capullo Run) (Cause...it's the G**D**** Batman) :D
Batgirl (Cause I really dig what they are trying to do with the social media hook)
Spider-Gwen (The art style caught my eye and the store was really cool, but I need to catch up on it. only read the first two comics. )

I dove into the New 52 Suicide Squad Volume 4 run which was pretty good, but kinda all over the place because it had so many writers. I'm also reading the Star Wars, Darth Vader, and Princess Leia runs right now which I'm really enjoying. They're all great in their own way.

I'm going through a bunch of Spider-Man comics from the late 90's to chronologically get up to date. See y'all next millenia.

Ms. Marvel, which is really really good and should be read by everyone.

All-New Hawkeye, which isn't as good as Matt Fraction's run with Clint and Kate, but still pretty solid so far.

Secret Wars has been entertaining. Gotta love God Emperor Doom and his Legion of Thors.

IDW's Hasbro-based comics are good across the board, from giant shapeshifting robots to magical talking equines.

And finally, been reading Walt Simonson's legendary run on Thor from the 80's, and verily, 'tis quite excellent indeed.

Just finished the trades for Snyder's run of Batman which is obviously a must read for any Batman fan (though i'm still on the fence about how I feel about Zero Year). Picked up Fight Club 2 yesterday, hoping to start that today. Also started the Marvel run of Star Wars a couple days ago, and I must say that is a great read so far! I was hoping to pick up the Mad Max comics, but my comic shop was out of them.

I need to pick up some of those Dark Tower comics some time. I'm halfway through the book series and it's pretty great. You should start reading the books!

I'm reading the IDW TMNT series and the spin-offs.

Highly recommend it. The whole run has been nothing short of incredible thus far.

My top 5 ongoing's would be
- Bandette
- Velvet
- The Fade Out
- Ms.Marvel
- Descender
Shout outs to Afterlife With Archie and Mind MGMT

Saga I used to love but last 10 or so issues, not counting #24. Do not feel as good as earlier issues like series almost lost its spark. Maybe it'll better in trades. Still well made series.

Secret Wars
Amazing Spider-Man
Justice League
Superman
Spider-Woman
Saga
Secret Wars 2099
Infinity Gauntlet (Secret Wars Tie-In)
All-New X-Men
Spider-Gwen
Spider-verse (Secret Wars Tie-In)
Ultimate End (Secret Wars Tie-In)

Probably more I'm forgetting like Sex Criminals and Sex from Image which I'm following via TPB from the library. Probably gonna drop some of these (especially limited series) in favor of some indie titles.
