I just started reading Rat Queens. It's a really funny, sweet, awesome love letter to Dungeons and Dragons, getting rid of old tropes and showing what it's really about. I love it, read issue 1 and then bought volume 1 and 2.

Just read through Civil War, Planet Hulk, and World War Hulk. Really reminded me how much the MCU suffers for not having the Fantastic Four or Mutants.

Black Science by Rick Remender

Really interesting tale about dimensional travel and how its ripping apart a family and their friends figuratively and literally.

Comics you're reading at the moment

Apr 01, '16, 5:48pm

Just picked up a bunch of stuff at C2E2 (Chicago's Comic-Con) a few weeks ago:
Civil War: Amazing Spider-Man
Civil War: Wolverine
Civil War: Captain America
She-Hulk - Law and Disorder
Outcast
Low
Blackest Night (Green Lantern)
The Dark Knight Strikes Again
Superman Unchained
Kingdom Come

Today picked these up:
Superman - Earth One: Volume 1, 2, 3
Superman for Tomorrow
Crisis on Infinite Earths
The Walking Dead Volume 8

Sooooo I have a ton to read. I just started reading comics a year ago right before going to my first convention. I have never been excited to read before but now I look forward to it. Always looking for suggestions of what to read and learning about how trades and all the comic lingo works.

Also any suggestions for Darkseid storylines in DC??

Just finished Y: the last man.

Started fantastic, couldn't put down the first 3 books. Then it deteriorated badly and i honestly struggled to even finish it by the end.

I really want to read IDW's TMNT series, is now a good time to jump in? Other than that, I've been reading a lot of Geoff Johns and Grant Morrison. I'm really looking forward to Wonder Woman: Earth One, I'll for sure be picking it up this Wednesday.

I'm a couple chapters away from finishing Alison Bechdel's "Fun Home."

Really interesting and depressing.

I'm a huge fan of LOW, and I'm eagerly catching up to the show quickly on The Walking Dead. With that in mind, Saga, East of West, and maybe Rat Queens are always my go-to recommendations (alongside LOW, though you have that covered obviously). As far as superhero stuff is concerned, I enjoy Spider-Gwen and find the new Spider-Man (it's a new arc of Miles Morales as Spidey) pretty good so far. Can throw Huck in there too, from the guy behind Kick-Ass, Kingsman, Wanted, and yeah basically everything Hollywood wants to adapt outside of Marvel/DC.

finally finished the first Transmetropolitan TP. I don't know why I kept getting distracted from it with other things - it's arguably the best thing I've read recently. Spider's great fun.

just ordered Fear Agent and more Transmetropolitan.

Still feeling kinda bummed at how Y petered out.

Superman vs Darkseid. A collected edition with the end of a few stories. John Byrne story was alright. Would like another one if anyone knows

I've been reading more Transmetropolitan which, now I've got the lay of the land, is awesome to dip in and out of.

And working through the first Fear Agent hardcover. It's quite flawed, but also quite jolly and twisty, plenty of 'fun' without being exactly great. It's been confirming my early impression of Remender though (from x-force), that he's good, but a little fast and loose with the reader. Several times I had to stop, go back and to discover i'd missed some name or apparently small detail which suddenly became a crucial to the plot making sense.
The only gripe I have got is that I've discovered there is such a thing as too thick a hardcover. Although the buffy Library editions where fine at this scale with about 300 pages, at 400 pages this book is a bit unwieldy.

Not sure where i'll be going next (apart from more spider), either Fear agent Vol.2, Fatale or Revival.... or it might be time for more Batman. I enjoyed Black Mirror a lot, so i'm thinking working through the new52 books (owls etc). Just can't decide if i want paper or hardcovers - all my superhero books are paper and that looks neat shelved, maybe these are worth stepping things up for?

Fear Agent got even better as the main plot moved on. Unfortunately the back of the book was filled with 6/8page stand alone 'stories' of which a couple were passable, but the rest garbage. Still, I look forward to vol 2 of the main plot!

Picked up the first two volumes of Deadly Class and the first volume of Lazarus. Definitely enjoying them though I'm liking the former more than the latter.

I don't read comics, but I do read manga, so it seemed best to put that here I guess.

Boruto: Next Generation chapter 1: The art work is not good, the story mostly is a recap of the Boruto move. It just isn't as good or nearly as good as Naruto in any way or fashion. Then the first two pages and
► Show Spoiler
really turn me off on the series and I read every chapter of Naruto.

Just bought the original Ghost in the Shell manga from Shirow Masamune. Its a bit jarring to see the Major being a bit more playful and acting more cartoony at times but it still feels like classic GITS.
