Where is your favorite place to read?

Jun 28, '16, 10:30pm

Whether it's books, comics, newspapers, whatever you find yourself reading. Examples: bedroom, living room, on the shitter, in the tub, on transportation, at the library, outdoor area, etc.

Mine is a split between on a plane and in a tub. Odd, I know.

I don't read as often as I should, but I usually find myself reading in bed or on the couch. Those are pretty much my go to, although the bed is dangerous because it's usually at night and if a book has a lull I find myself dozing off.

The plane, like you said, is a good spot as well. There's something oddly relaxing about reading a book on a plane, although I usually read magazines that I pick up from the airport news stores.

I read in bed, before I go to sleep. It's just something about just being the most comfortable you can be before I get lost in what ever book I'm reading.

I enjoy reading on trips because it feels like I'm multitasking, and hell, what else am I going to do? In daily life I enjoy reading in the library silent room or in a quiet spot somewhere in the stacks or in an uncluttered room underneath an overhead lamp. I tend to prefer light right over whatever I'm reading.

The toilet
Whenever I think of the past, it brings back so many memories.

Before I was married, I'd read a lot in bed before going to sleep. Nowadays it's mostly on the bus

I usually read in bed or in the car (when I am waiting for the other half to arrive at the station when coming home from work). I should read more than I do though.

For me, it's not just the place, but the entire situation - sometimes, very rarely, I get maybe an hour or two when I'm alone at home, the wife and our kid are out someplace, and it's all quiet and I'm not in a hurry to do anything. That's when I like to sit down on the couch, take a lazy position, and just read in complete silence. It's bliss, particularly because of how few and far between are my opportunities to do so.
