Keep a food diary. Writing down what you eat every day keeps you honest and really makes you aware of how much you’re eating.

I'm writing back in this thread to say, you can do your best to diet but for me at least I have to do both to really lose any kinda of weight.
Lost 5 pounds now in the last month and I'm staying down because I'm running 7 days a week, and now eating much better. If I was just eating right I might lose weight slowly but feel exercise really helps keep your body active and even more willing to lose weight
